~Nicole Jackson~

Going to Uganda was an awesome experience.  I thank God that He sent me.

I feel a better appreciation for things in my life that in Uganda, they do not have.

Being with the children and seeing their love for the Lord brought such joy to my heart.  I think spending more time with them would have been good.

When the kids meet their sponsors, to show their appreciation they give gifts of fruit or other things from their homes.  One family gave us a chicken which we placed under a bus seat while we visited other families.

At one of the home visits, I decided to stay with the bus, along with Jackie and Eva. Jackie and I rested in the bus while Eva stepped out to take pictures of the local children who had gathered.

For some reason the bus door was shut, and the chicken went crazy and got out from under the seat and started flapping and jumping around the bus trying to escape.  Jackie and I started screaming and I was going for the nearest window trying to escape.  Jackie, 75 years old, somehow jumped over a 100 pound sack of vegetables blocking the bus stairs and flew out of the door.

The chicken was flying and squawking, but I managed to dodge it and make it out behind Jackie.  Eva just walked around the bus laughing and taking pictures.  The bus driver and a local man tied the chicken back up and put him in the "trunk".    It was very funny.

I really enjoyed going to Uganda.  It was one way to truly trust God being away from home, but He took care of everything.  God is so good!

I look forward to going again and seeing the children and my little Bruno.
